The Palm Wax Problem.

In recent years, palm wax candles have become increasingly popular as a 'green' alternative to traditional paraffin candles. However, the production of palm wax comes at a great cost to both the environment and human rights.

Palm oil plantations, which supply the palm wax used in candles, have been responsible for mass deforestation in countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia, leading to the destruction of vital habitats for endangered species like orangutangs, tigers, and elephants. The production of palm oil is also linked to the displacement of indigenous communities and the exploitation of workers, including child labor.

On the wellness front, many palm wax candles on the market contain additives and chemicals that are harmful to both human health and the environment. Some of these additives include stearic acid, which is often derived from animal fats, and synthetic fragrances that release toxins into the air when burned.

So, what's the solution? Look for candles made from sustainable and ethically-sourced materials, such as our Australian beeswax candles.

By making informed choices about something as simple as the candles we use, we can help protect the planet and promote ethical and sustainable practices in the candle industry.
