The Coffee Cashew Contradiction Smoothie

The Coffee Cashew Contradiction Smoothie is named so because it contains maca, an adaptogenic root known to contradict the stressful effects of caffeine, which is contained within both cacao & coffee.


Note: if you suffer from adrenal fatigue or any other condition of the adrenals, or if you’re under chronic stress, this smoothie can be tweaked for you: Remove the coffee altogether, then replace the cacao with carob powder.


Ingredients:

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 tbsp raw cashews
  • 1 tsp coffee (beans or ground)
  • 2 tsp raw cacao powder or carob powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh almond milk
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 scoop Sunwarrior protein (or another plant protein of your choice)
  • 1tsp maca
  • 1/2 cup ice.
